About the Role
As an Airway Transportation Systems Specialist serving as a NAS Area Specialist in the Service Operations Center (SOC), you will support the safe, reliable operation of NAS facilities, services, and equipment across a broad geographic area. You’ll use technical expertise to ensure system availability and coordinate with air traffic customers and other NAS users.
Responsibilities
- Provide complete service and support to air traffic customers and other NAS users with a focus on reliability and availability
- Collaborate with multiple customers to coordinate shutdowns and restorations of facilities, services, and equipment while minimizing disruption
- Initiate timely actions for repair and restoration, considering backup systems, possible reconfiguration, and the criticality of operational functions
- Ensure NAS events are properly logged and tracked for operational awareness and follow-up
Requirements
- Strong technical knowledge of complex systems and system interrelationships
- Experience supporting operational environments where availability and reliability are critical
- Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders during service-impacting events
- Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accurate event logging and documentation
