About the Role
Join our Mechanical Maintenance team as a Journeyman Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic at VAWNYHS. In this first-shift role, you’ll install, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning (HVACR) equipment to keep critical systems operating reliably.
Responsibilities
- Perform independent repairs and maintenance on HVACR systems
- Identify causes of faulty refrigeration and air conditioning equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair complex malfunctions that are difficult to diagnose
- Repair refrigeration systems using knowledge of compressors, refrigerants, expansion valves, and controls
- Work on systems monitored and controlled by computer-based controls
- Service HVAC operations such as reheat, VAV, and dual duct systems using established trade practices
Requirements
- Journeyman-level experience as an HVACR equipment mechanic
- Strong troubleshooting skills for HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Ability to repair and maintain complex HVACR components, including compressor and control systems
- Knowledge of HVAC systems with computer-based monitoring and control
