About the Role
SpaceX is building technologies to enable human exploration of the stars, and we’re looking for a Lead Hardware Reliability Engineer to help advance Starlink. In this role, you’ll support production quality and reliability for key hardware systems—driven by the mission to deliver dependable connectivity worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Own production quality for the dish, router, and SMT lines at the new Bastrop factory
- Lead the quality landscape, including defect processing, MRB (Material Review Board), and containment activities
- Drive execution of the reliability demonstration test matrix for new production
- Develop and apply reliability-focused approaches to improve product robustness and manufacturing outcomes
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure quality and reliability requirements are met from development through production
Requirements
- Experience in mechanical engineering with a strong reliability or quality background
- Hands-on understanding of manufacturing quality systems and defect containment/processing
- Proven ability to lead test and validation activities using structured test matrices
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in production environments
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering and operations teams
