About the Role
WRGB/WCWN is seeking a creative News Producer to manage the daily production of newscasts. You’ll partner closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk, and anchors to shape show content, pacing, and overall storytelling—plus support digital content for our website.
Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day production flow of newscasts, including content selection and show rundown
- Collaborate with leadership and on-air talent to develop and refine story plans
- Write and craft accurate, compelling news copy for broadcast and digital
- Coordinate with the assignment desk to ensure stories are executed effectively
- Support daily news strategies and goals to deliver timely, engaging newscasts
- Stay responsive to breaking news with quick, on-the-spot problem solving
Requirements
- Strong news judgment and editorial decision-making
- Proven ability to write clearly and accurately under deadline
- Excellent multitasking and time management in a fast-paced newsroom
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Flexibility to adapt quickly as priorities change throughout the day
