About the Role
Scout Motors is looking for a Senior Engineer to help design and deliver OBD system capabilities that support our next-generation electric and range-extended powertrains. In this role, you’ll contribute to robust diagnostics and compliance-ready functionality while working on systems that power real-world driving in a wide range of conditions.
Responsibilities
- Own technical aspects of OBD system design, requirements, and verification planning
- Develop and validate diagnostic logic to support fault detection, reporting, and recovery
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams across powertrain, controls, and software
- Support integration and test execution for OBD-related features and releases
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for system issues found during testing
Requirements
- Experience with OBD/diagnostics systems in automotive applications
- Strong systems and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to translate requirements into testable behavior
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical architectures and diagnostic frameworks
- Experience with verification/validation practices and diagnostic feature testing
- Clear communication skills for working effectively with engineering and test teams
