About the Role
As a Patient Scheduler II, you’ll pre-register and schedule patients for appointments, procedures, tests, and other services. You’ll provide professional, courteous service while coordinating with care teams to help ensure patients receive timely, appropriate care.
Responsibilities
- Register and verify patients, schedule appointments, procedures, and lab services, and ensure required forms and signatures are collected
- Complete patient checkout and schedule follow-up visits according to provider orders
- Provide patients with cost estimates and clear itineraries for upcoming visits
- Handle inbound calls and manage follow-up and referral work queues, including ticket scheduling
- Coordinate scheduling across multiple service lines in a high-call, high-volume environment
- Support population health and chronic disease management initiatives through patient registry work and outbound outreach
- Accurately enter information into the electronic health record while communicating with patients
- Perform additional clerical tasks as assigned
Requirements
- 1 year of clinical healthcare experience, or 1 year of experience as a Patient Scheduler I, or 1 year of experience in a contact/call center
