About the Role
Roblox is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to help build safer, more civil experiences across our global platform. In this role, you’ll use advanced analytics and machine learning to address safety challenges at massive scale, enabling better outcomes for players and creators.
Responsibilities
- Design and lead data science initiatives focused on trust and safety, including measurement, modeling, and evaluation.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate safety goals into data-driven solutions.
- Develop scalable pipelines and statistical or machine learning approaches to detect, predict, and reduce harmful behavior.
- Drive experimentation and rigorous analysis to improve safety systems and operational decision-making.
- Communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in data science, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
- Proven experience applying analytics to safety, moderation, risk, or related domains.
- Ability to work with large-scale data and build reliable, production-oriented workflows.
- Experience leading ambiguous, high-impact projects end-to-end.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong written and verbal communication.
