About the Role
Flint is building personalized learning at school scale—so students learn at their pace, teachers see what’s really happening in class, and administrators can measure impact. We’re looking for a Product Designer to own how Flint works and how it feels, balancing the needs of students, teachers, and admins in one cohesive experience.
Responsibilities
- Dig deep to validate user goals, map key journeys, and define the real jobs to be done.
- Generate and test multiple concepts quickly, then narrow to the best direction using judgment, team review, and real user feedback.
- Design from zero to one and iterate from early builds into scalable, coherent, and delightful product experiences.
- Communicate design intent, context, and reasoning clearly across the team.
- Help set and evolve the design bar, including what becomes a reusable pattern versus a one-off.
- Partner through QA and measure impact using agreed-upon metrics—shipping is only the start.
- Contribute to product decisions that can influence learning for hundreds of thousands of students.
Requirements
- Experience designing and shipping real software products.
- Ability to run the full design arc: problem understanding, concepts, hi-fi design, and specs engineers can build from.
- Comfort working iteratively and “scrappily,” preferring early validation with real teachers over perfection in private.
- Strong product thinking and excitement to help shape a category-defining education platform.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn—especially about the education space and how it varies across US K–12 and beyond.
- Portfolio and examples demonstrating thoughtful design decisions and outcomes (not just polished slides).
Benefits
- Base salary range: $160,000–$190,000 plus meaningful equity.
- Health and dental insurance.
- Personal device stipend.
