About the Role
Encova Insurance is seeking a Production Underwriter for Package Lines to support accounts averaging over $75k in premium. This role will focus on building and maintaining agency relationships across an assigned territory, with travel required. Candidates should be based in Central Indiana, ideally in Fort Wayne, South Bend, or Indianapolis.
Responsibilities
- Visit agencies throughout the assigned territory to develop new relationships and strengthen existing partnerships
- Evaluate and underwrite Package Lines submissions in alignment with company guidelines
- Support production goals for accounts with average premium exceeding $75k
- Partner with internal teams to ensure timely, accurate underwriting decisions
- Represent the company in the field to promote growth and retention
Requirements
- Insurance underwriting experience, preferably with Package Lines
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills aligned to underwriting standards
- Comfort working with agencies and building long-term business relationships
- Based in Central Indiana (Fort Wayne, South Bend, or Indianapolis preferred)
