About the Role
Draper is seeking a Program Manager I to oversee the full lifecycle of small to medium complexity programs. You’ll own program execution across cost, schedule, and technical performance while building strong customer relationships and leading cross-functional teams to deliver results.
Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end program execution, meeting cost, schedule, and technical targets while exceeding customer expectations
- Set program performance measurement baselines and track progress against plans
- Develop, implement, and maintain resource allocation plans in partnership with functional organizations
- Manage program phases from inception through completion, ensuring alignment to scope, deliverables, and requirements
- Serve as primary customer interface, leading reviews and coordinating program activities with internal and external stakeholders
- Identify, assess, and address risks, opportunities, and issues across cost, schedule, and technical deliverables
- Support win strategies, competitive captures, and proposal activities to grow the business portfolio
- Apply quality control and quality assurance processes in line with the Quality Management System and customer requirements
- Participate in contract negotiations and manage reporting, deliverables, and change activities
- Lead with an inclusive mindset, maintaining team morale and supporting talent recruiting, retention, and development
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in project/program management in commercial or defense environments
- Working knowledge of program management tools and processes such as EVMS, Integrated Master Plan/Schedule (IMP/IMS), and risk/opportunity/issue management
- Experience supporting government programs with direct customer interfaces
- Ability to collaborate effectively with functional organizations in a matrixed environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience leading reviews and stakeholder discussions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to travel as needed
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance (Secret required)
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, or a related technical field (preferred)
