About the Role
Join GM’s Mechatronic Software Platform (MSP) team to help validate low-level Hardware Input/Output (HWIO) software for embedded automotive controllers. You’ll focus on ensuring reliable behavior at the software-to-hardware interface, supporting both verification and regression activities across the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Verify HWIO functionality for embedded controllers, including input/output behavior and interface correctness
- Validate communication flows and integration points between software components and hardware
- Test ASIC-driver-related behavior where applicable to ensure consistent, robust operation
- Support HWIO software verification and regression phases, improving test coverage over time
- Collaborate with HWIO developers and cross-functional teams to confirm software quality before release
- Ensure results are traceable and aligned with the team’s verification approach
Requirements
- Experience with QA/verification for embedded software and hardware interfaces
- Strong understanding of I/O concepts, communication mechanisms, and embedded system behavior
- Familiarity with test development for regression/verification in a software lifecycle
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate findings clearly
Benefits
- Opportunity to contribute to software that supports GM’s SDV (Software-Defined Vehicle) strategy
- Work within a platform team building reusable infrastructure and tooling
- Collaborate with experienced engineers across mechatronic software and embedded domains
