About the Role
Consensys is seeking a Senior Application Security Engineer to help secure applications that support the decentralized web. You’ll join a fully remote, globally distributed team working on products and infrastructure used by individuals, developers, and institutions worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Design and improve application security controls across the software development lifecycle
- Identify and remediate security risks through threat modeling, secure coding guidance, and review of engineering work
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to reduce vulnerabilities and strengthen defenses
- Develop and maintain security tooling and processes that scale across services
- Support incident response activities related to application security when needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in application security for modern web applications and APIs
- Strong understanding of common vulnerability classes (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and how to mitigate them
- Experience with secure software development practices, code review, and threat modeling
- Working knowledge of security testing approaches such as SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, and fuzzing
- Clear communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with engineers and stakeholders
