About the Role
Abnormal AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Adaptive Classifications Team. This team builds and operates Abnormal’s AI Security Mailbox and Detection 360 products, helping automate security analysts’ workflows with reliable and user-friendly agentic experiences.
You’ll be part of a full-stack group that covers the full lifecycle—from data storage and detection performance to backend services and user-facing features. The ideal candidate has strong experience across the stack, with deep expertise in backend systems, distributed computing, and event-driven architecture.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to shape the Adaptive Classifications Team roadmap
- Design, build, and improve backend and distributed systems that power detection and classification
- Develop and maintain data storage and processing pipelines that support detection efficacy
- Contribute to frontend and end-to-end product experiences when needed to deliver complete features
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship improvements that increase automation and analyst efficiency
Requirements
- Experience building full-stack systems with strong backend fundamentals
- Proficiency with distributed computing and event-driven architectures
- Hands-on experience designing reliable services for production environments
- Ability to work across data, backend, and application layers in a single product team
