About the Role
Join the Application Modernization Platform (AMP) team to help transform legacy applications into modern, microservices-based architectures powered by MongoDB. This high-visibility initiative uses Generative AI to deliver both the “brain” (multi-agent reasoning and orchestration) and the “hands” (deployment and modernization tooling) within a SaaS-like platform.
You’ll help build a reliable platform foundation that supports a “build once, run anywhere” approach—operating smoothly across diverse customer security and network environments. A core focus will be balancing customer-specific tuning with extensible, scalable tooling for common modernization challenges.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical direction for the AMP platform, influencing architecture, reliability, and scalability
- Design and evolve platform services that support multi-agent orchestration and modernization workflows
- Develop deployment and modernization toolsets that work across varied customer constraints
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure extensibility and maintainability of the platform
- Drive engineering best practices, including performance, observability, and secure-by-design patterns
Requirements
- Proven experience as a senior engineering leader (Staff or similar) building complex distributed systems
- Strong background in platform engineering, infrastructure design, and scalable service architecture
- Experience developing with or around MongoDB and modern microservices patterns
- Track record of delivering reliable systems in security- and network-constrained environments
- Ability to translate ambiguous problems into clear technical plans and execution
