About the Role

Babylist is looking for a Staff Product Designer (AI Builder) to lead the design of a major Babylist experience end-to-end. You’ll be the durable design owner the team turns to when complex questions come up—balancing craft, research, and AI-enabled building to shape how the product feels and works.

You’ll think broadly across user journeys, ensuring experiences are intuitive, beautiful, and emotionally right for customers. Partner closely with product managers, engineers, and data teams while owning the experience layer and driving outcomes that matter.

Responsibilities

• Own the design direction for a key Babylist experience, from concept through execution
• Research and validate user needs to inform design decisions
• Design and prototype AI-enabled product features and workflows
• Drive end-to-end user flows across the broader Babylist experience
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data partners to deliver functional and emotional value
• Ensure interactions are consistent, accessible, and aligned with product vision

Requirements

• Strong product design experience with a track record of shipping impactful experiences
• Proven ability to lead complex design problems and guide teams through ambiguous decisions
• Hands-on research skills to uncover user insights and measure outcomes
• Experience designing for or building with AI-enabled systems (AI builder mindset)
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across design, engineering, and data
• Strong judgment for usability, aesthetics, and emotional experience
