About the Role
KGAN is seeking a part-time, temporary creative News Producer to support the daily production of newscasts. You’ll collaborate closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Editing Manager, and reporters to shape stories for broadcast and develop supporting content for our website.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day production of newscasts, including content selection and rundown flow
- Work with management and on-air talent to develop story ideas and written segments
- Coordinate with reporters and editorial partners to ensure accurate, timely coverage
- Execute daily news strategy and goals during newscast production
- Contribute content for the station’s website
- Handle fast-paced, deadline-driven tasks and solve problems as they arise
Requirements
- Strong news judgment and editorial instincts
- Proven ability to write clearly, compellingly, and accurately
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively under tight deadlines
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Flexibility and quick problem-solving in real time
