About the Role
KGAN is seeking a part-time temporary creative News Producer to help run the day-to-day production of our newscasts. You’ll collaborate closely with the Executive Producer, Director, Editing Manager, and reporters to shape coverage and deliver accurate, engaging stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Direct the content and pacing of daily newscasts
- Work with on-air talent and leadership to generate story ideas and coverage plans
- Write and refine scripts to ensure clarity, accuracy, and strong storytelling
- Coordinate with editing and production teams to keep segments on schedule
- Develop content for the station’s website to extend coverage beyond the broadcast
- Execute daily news strategies and goals in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Requirements
- Strong news judgment and the ability to make timely editorial decisions
- Compelling, accurate writing skills
- Proven ability to multitask and manage time effectively under tight deadlines
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Flexibility and quick problem-solving for breaking developments
