About the Role
Benesch is seeking a Transportation Project Manager (Civil/Highway) with demonstrated MassDOT experience to help drive transportation infrastructure projects in Massachusetts. This hybrid role is based in our Boston office and offers an opportunity to lead project delivery while also supporting business development and regional growth.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Manager for transportation projects, owning scope, schedule, and budget performance
- Create and execute project work plans and ensure alignment with organizational and client objectives
- Manage project teams and coordinate with internal disciplines and external subconsultants
- Mentor and support junior staff to build strong delivery capabilities
- Lead client relationship efforts with key stakeholders, including MassDOT
- Identify opportunities and help lead strategic pursuits and proposal development
- Review and approve deliverables to ensure completeness, quality, and adherence to standards
- Ensure compliance with project and company safety guidelines and mitigate delivery risks
- Track lessons learned and share insights to support continuous improvement
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
- Registered Massachusetts Professional Engineer (PE)
- Minimum 10 years of design experience, including managing projects
- Experience delivering MassDOT projects
- Strong seller/doer mindset with a proven record of meeting design budgets and schedules
- Excellent communication skills and client-focused relationship management
Compensation & Benefits
- Expected compensation range: $135,000–$170,000 annually (final offer based on qualifications and location)
- Total annual package may include base salary, overtime, and bonuses
