About the Role
Northmarq is looking for an experienced Agency Underwriter with affordable/conventional lending experience to join our Agency team in Dallas. In this role, you’ll help move loan transactions from application through closing by applying sound underwriting judgment and supporting the broader loan process.
Responsibilities
- Review loan applications and supporting documentation to determine eligibility and underwriting direction
- Complete and maintain credit and collateral analysis to support underwriting decisions
- Coordinate with internal partners and stakeholders to address conditions, questions, and documentation needs
- Support the loan workflow from application through closing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare clear underwriting summaries and recommendations for review
- Maintain organized records and follow established underwriting guidelines and processes
Requirements
- Prior underwriting experience with affordable and/or conventional lending
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Comfort working through loan documentation and credit/asset evaluation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Professional communication skills for coordinating next steps and resolving issues
