About the Role
Northmarq is looking for an experienced Agency Underwriter to support our Agency team. In this role, you’ll help manage key steps of the loan process—from application through closing—by evaluating deals, identifying risks, and partnering with internal stakeholders to move transactions forward.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze loan applications for affordable and conventional transactions
- Perform underwriting analysis and support decision-making across the loan lifecycle
- Coordinate with relevant teams to gather documentation and ensure completeness
- Track progress from application to closing and help resolve underwriting questions
- Maintain accurate records and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders
Requirements
- Prior underwriting experience with affordable and/or conventional lending
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities
- Clear communication skills for collaborating across internal partners
