About the Role
As an Airway Transportation Systems Specialist in the Service Operations Center (SOC), you will serve as a NAS Area Specialist supporting the safe, reliable operation of the National Airspace System. You’ll use technical expertise to manage complex systems and ensure air traffic customers and other NAS users receive dependable services across a large geographic area.
Responsibilities
- Provide complete service and operational support to NAS users with a focus on availability and reliability of facilities, services, and equipment
- Collaborate with multiple customers to coordinate shutdowns and restorations, minimizing disruption to the flying public
- Initiate timely repair and/or restoration actions for NAS facilities, services, and equipment
- Consider backup system availability, reconfiguration options, and the criticality of functions to maintain safe and efficient operations
- Ensure all NAS events are accurately logged and tracked
Requirements
- Technical knowledge of complex NAS systems and their interrelationships
- Ability to apply expertise to operational decision-making involving service availability and reliability
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders during facility or service changes
- Strong attention to detail for event logging and documentation
