About the Role
Scout Motors is looking for a Direct Procurement Specialist to support the sourcing of metal commodities that help power our next generation of vehicles. In this role, you’ll help secure quality materials, align supply with production needs, and strengthen relationships across internal teams and external suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Manage direct procurement activities for assigned metal commodity categories
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery requirements
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations to forecast material needs and reduce supply risk
- Track supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in lead times, quality, and responsiveness
- Support pricing and contract activities, including documentation and compliance
- Identify opportunities to optimize purchasing strategy and total cost of ownership
Requirements
- Experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles (direct materials preferred)
- Knowledge of metal commodity markets and supplier management practices
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery
- Comfort working cross-functionally and communicating clearly with stakeholders
- Analytical mindset with experience tracking performance metrics
- Proficiency with procurement tools and Microsoft Office (Excel preferred)
