About the Role
Scout Motors is looking for a Direct Procurement Specialist focused on metal commodities to support sourcing strategies for production and program needs. In this role, you’ll help ensure reliable supply, competitive pricing, and strong supplier relationships as we build the next generation of American vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day procurement activities for assigned metal commodity categories
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to align sourcing decisions with requirements
- Negotiate with suppliers to support cost, lead time, and quality targets
- Monitor supply market conditions and recommend actions to reduce risk
- Maintain accurate purchasing data, documentation, and category performance reporting
- Support supplier development initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
Requirements
- Experience in direct procurement, sourcing, or purchasing—preferably for metals or industrial materials
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Working knowledge of procurement processes, supplier performance, and cost/lead-time tradeoffs
- Ability to analyze data and make recommendations based on business needs
- Comfort working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, production-focused environment
