About the Role
We’re looking for a strategic Director of Engineering Operations to help turn a complex, global engineering organization into a high-performing, data-driven delivery engine. In this role, you’ll set the operating rhythm for an ~800-person engineering org in a fast-growing SaaS environment, using metrics, portfolio visibility, and AI-enabled tooling to improve predictability, quality, and throughput at scale.
Responsibilities
- Own engineering performance dashboards, success metrics, and reporting that enable faster, better leadership decisions
- Optimize workflows and tooling across Jira, Confluence, GitHub, and CI/CD to improve delivery efficiency and consistency
- Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning Product, Design, QA, and Customer Success
- Drive portfolio visibility and delivery frameworks that support predictable, high-quality execution
- Build, manage, and mentor a globally distributed operations team
- Embed continuous improvement practices across engineering through data-driven experimentation and process refinement
- Partner with senior stakeholders to align on priorities, risks, and execution plans
Requirements
- Proven experience in engineering operations, program/portfolio operations, or a similar role focused on delivery performance
- Strong analytics and metrics expertise, with the ability to translate data into actionable leadership insights
- Hands-on familiarity with common engineering collaboration and delivery tools (Jira, Confluence, GitHub, CI/CD)
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across product and engineering
- Track record of building and mentoring distributed teams
- Comfort operating at the intersection of strategy, data, delivery, and culture
