About the Role
Mission Lane is seeking a Director of Data Science focused on Credit Risk to lead a team and drive cross-functional analytics initiatives. You’ll help modernize and improve the machine learning models that support high-impact lending decisions, enabling better outcomes for both the business and our customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of credit risk machine learning models
- Own end-to-end model lifecycle activities, from problem framing to production monitoring
- Partner with stakeholders across risk, product, engineering, and operations to deliver measurable improvements
- Guide model performance optimization for accuracy, stability, and operational reliability
- Ensure responsible use of data science practices, including governance and documentation
Requirements
- Proven experience leading data science work in credit risk, underwriting, or related financial risk domains
- Strong expertise in machine learning model development and deployment
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams and drive cross-functional execution
- Experience working with large-scale data and analytics pipelines
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical work into business impact
