About the Role
AeroVect is building autonomous ground handling systems that help airlines and ground service providers run day-to-day operations more efficiently. As a Series A company backed by leading venture investors, we work with major customers across aviation and industrial automation.
We’re seeking a Director of Hardware to lead our hardware organization end-to-end. In this hands-on role, you’ll guide technical direction across mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical engineering, as well as drive-by-wire, the sensor suite, and the manufacturing and supply chain needed to deliver our vehicle platform.
Responsibilities
- Own the hardware roadmap and ensure successful delivery of platform milestones
- Lead and develop the hardware team across mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical engineering
- Set technical strategy for drive-by-wire, sensor integration, and overall vehicle hardware architecture
- Partner with engineering and operations to align design, manufacturing, and sourcing plans
- Drive continuous improvement in hardware execution, quality, and reliability
- Report progress and risks to the VP of Engineering
Requirements
- Proven experience leading hardware engineering teams and owning end-to-end technical delivery
- Strong background in electromechanical systems, sensors, and vehicle hardware integration
- Experience with drive-by-wire or related control systems
- Track record coordinating hardware development with manufacturing and supply chain stakeholders
- Ability to operate as a hands-on technical leader while managing roadmap execution
