About the Role
LaunchDarkly is seeking a UX leader to own the design strategy for the Foundation pillar—our product area that helps new developers discover, try, and adopt LaunchDarkly. You’ll lead the end-to-end self-serve experience, including trial flow, onboarding, activation, and how developers understand and move through packaging and learning paths.
As the UX Pillar Lead for Foundation, you’ll partner closely with Product Management and Engineering in a product triad model. The goal is to improve activation outcomes for developers who try LaunchDarkly but never connect an SDK.
Responsibilities
- Own UX direction for Foundation, including self-serve motion, onboarding, activation, and guided paths
- Partner with product and engineering teams to define evidence-based UX strategies and measurable outcomes
- Manage and mentor a team of 5–7 UX designers working across Foundation and related surfaces
- Drive design quality and consistency across experiences that support the journey from “testing this” to “building on this”
- Collaborate on improving engagement with LaunchDarkly differentiators such as guarded releases, experimentation, and observability
Requirements
- Proven experience leading UX design at a senior level, with demonstrated ownership of product outcomes
- Strong leadership skills managing and mentoring multi-disciplinary design teams
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product Management and Engineering
- Ability to use evidence and metrics to guide design decisions and iterative improvements
- Background designing onboarding, activation, or developer-focused experiences is a plus
Benefits
- Remote role supporting work across the United States
- Opportunity to lead a high-impact UX pillar focused on activation and developer adoption
- Collaborative product environment with Product and Engineering in a triad model
