About the Role
KMPH FOX26 is looking for an entry-level editor/writer to support our Friday Night Rivals high school football coverage. This is a part-time role averaging about 10 hours per week, with additional shift coverage during the football season.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate sponsorship scripts and graphics with the production truck
- Edit and write news segments for high school football coverage
- Feed highlights back to the Sinclair corporate team after Friday night coverage
- Support weekend shift coverage during off-peak periods (as scheduled)
Requirements
- Currently enrolled or completed coursework in a four-year accredited college or university (junior or senior year preferred)
- Interest in building a career in news
- Ability to work an 8-hour shift on Fridays during high school football season
- Ability to work a 2-hour shift the following day during football season to edit and send highlights
Schedule Notes
- During football season: 8-hour Friday shift plus a 2-hour shift the next day
- Other parts of the year: 6:45–11:15 pm on Saturday and Sunday nights (per schedule)
