About the Role
Akoustis, a wholly owned SpaceX subsidiary, develops high-performance RF filters using patented XBAW technology and supports Starlink’s mission of expanding global connectivity. As an Equipment Reliability Engineer, you’ll help ensure critical equipment performs reliably across the mechanical and electrical lifecycle—supporting production and mission-driven outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead internal teams, consulting engineers, and contractors through mechanical and electrical development activities from concept through execution
- Drive reliability-focused reviews and technical planning for equipment performance, durability, and maintainability
- Collaborate across engineering and operations to identify failure modes and implement corrective actions
- Support commissioning, validation, and ongoing improvement of equipment reliability in production environments
- Recommend and track reliability improvements, test approaches, and verification plans
Requirements
- Experience with equipment reliability engineering, reliability analysis, or related mechanical/electrical engineering work
- Strong understanding of failure modes, testing/verification, and root-cause problem solving
- Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Comfort working through both mechanical and electrical technical considerations
