About the Role
Join our Data Center team as a Facilities Technician in a fixed-term developmental program. You’ll help operate and support the physical systems that keep our global computing infrastructure running for Google products and services.
Working under close day-to-day supervision, you’ll assist with inspection, maintenance, and repair tasks across key facilities areas—including heating and cooling, power distribution, generators, UPS systems, and monitoring and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Support daily inspections of data center facilities systems under direct supervision
- Assist with maintenance and repair of piping and non-critical electrical or mechanical components
- Help monitor equipment and systems to support safe, reliable operations
- Read blueprints and schematics during guided system walkthroughs
- Conduct tours of systems and help assess operating condition
- Deliver accurate, timely work while meeting quality expectations
Requirements
- Basic understanding of facilities or mechanical/electrical systems (training provided within the program)
- Ability to follow work instructions and safety procedures
- Comfort working around industrial facilities equipment
- Willingness to learn and perform tasks under direct supervision
- Ability to interpret simple schematics/blueprints with guidance
