Firefighter (ARFF) – Airport Emergency Response (Onsite)

Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) Emergency Medical Services (BLS) Hazardous Materials Incident Response

About the Role

Join our airport emergency response team as a Firefighter (ARFF). You’ll be responsible for responding to aircraft and structural fire emergencies, medical incidents, hazardous materials events, and other emergencies within airport property—helping protect passengers, crew, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to aircraft incidents, structural fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and other emergencies on airport grounds
  • Provide firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical services to safeguard people and property
  • Use appropriate fire suppression techniques and agents, including water, foam, and dry chemicals
  • Conduct search and rescue operations in smoke-filled and hazardous environments
  • Deliver first aid and basic life support (BLS) until advanced care is available
  • Support patient transport to medical facilities as needed
  • Complete daily inspections and maintenance of ARFF vehicles, extinguishers, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain readiness of firefighting supplies and equipment and participate in drills and emergency simulations
  • Document incident reports, training records, and shift logs for compliance and audits
  • Follow all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Coordinate with airport operations, medical services, Duty Manager, ATC, and external emergency agencies during incidents and exercises

Requirements

  • Diploma in Fire Fighting Technology or an equivalent qualification
  • Certification from an accredited firefighting academy
  • 2–3 years of firefighting experience, preferably in aircraft rescue and fire fighting (ARFF) operations
  • Ability to perform under pressure during emergency response and training scenarios
  • Strong attention to safety procedures, reporting accuracy, and operational readiness
