About the Role
Newscape Studios, Inc. is looking for freelance 2D background artists to support our YouTube animation production. You’ll help create environments and background props that match the visual style of our gaming and animation channels for a young audience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an organized, efficient production workflow
- Finish environments and background props for use in production
- Meet daily quotas during the production week
- Produce approximately 25 environments per week (depending on scope and experience)
- Adapt duties based on skill level and prior experience
Requirements
- Strong proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and Procreate
- Background artists must be able to adapt to multiple art styles
- Solid understanding of composition, perspective, color theory, lighting, and form
- Comfort working collaboratively as part of a team
- Clear communication and strong listening skills
- Excellent time management and attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and daily production quotas
- Toon Boom knowledge is a plus
- Portfolio required
Pay & Work Setup
- Competitive pay: $800 per production week
- Remote / work from home independent contractor position
- LLC preferred but not required
