About the Role

Join the NIH Office of Research Services as an Industrial Hygienist supporting large, complex industrial operations and experimental work involving a range of chemical agents. In this role, you’ll help protect worker health by managing and advancing a comprehensive industrial hygiene program.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an industrial hygiene program covering complex industrial operations and laboratory activities
  • Direct and/or perform industrial hygiene functions, including development of instructions and control procedures for significant health hazards
  • Provide expert guidance and consultation to leadership on industrial hygiene issues
  • Justify operating budgets and staffing, facility, and equipment needs related to industrial hygiene requirements
  • Lead and oversee training efforts in industrial hygiene to ensure readiness and compliance

Requirements

  • Experience supporting laboratory research activities, including assisting senior investigators
  • Ability to conduct laboratory experiments in support of research programs
  • Strong knowledge of industrial hygiene principles and methods for identifying and controlling workplace hazards
  • Experience developing control procedures and hazard-related instructions
