Organ Donation Coordinator I (ICU RN/RT) - Nights Hybrid (Full-Time, 36 hrs/week)

About the Role

New England Donor Services is hiring an experienced ICU RN, Critical Care RN, Trauma Nurse, or Critical Care Respiratory Therapist to join our team as an Organ Donation Coordinator I. In this on-site role, you’ll respond to organ donor referrals and apply critical care expertise to support donor evaluation, donor management, organ allocation, and organ recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Respond on-site to organ donor referrals with clinical expertise in donor evaluation and management
  • Educate hospital staff on the donation process and coordinate key clinical steps
  • Work with donor families to support consent conversations with compassion and professionalism
  • Partner with surgical teams and critical care staff to help optimize organs for transplantation
  • Coordinate effectively across multiple stakeholders during urgent, time-sensitive situations

Requirements

  • Current ICU-level clinical experience as an RN/RT (e.g., ICU RN, Critical Care RN, Trauma Nurse, or Critical Care Respiratory Therapist)
  • Strong critical thinking and comfort working in high-acuity environments
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with families and healthcare teams
  • Ability to live within about an hour of Boston and Boston North, MA

Schedule & Training

  • Full-time position working 36 hours per week on nights
  • Hybrid work model
  • New hire Donation Academy Orientation class scheduled for September 2026
