About the Role
The Lawyering Project is seeking a Legal Intern for the fall semester to support mission-driven legal advocacy work across the United States. Founded in 2017, we combine impact litigation with movement lawyering to advance reproductive health, rights, and justice.
Interns will help strengthen our legal programs, with a focus on issues related to laws that restrict access to or affordability of abortion care, worsen reproductive health disparities, reinforce harmful gender stereotypes, or discriminate based on reproductive decisions.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys and program staff with legal research and case support
- Help draft and organize legal materials for ongoing litigation and advocacy work
- Support pro bono initiatives through document review, intake, and coordination tasks
- Contribute to analysis and summaries of legal developments and policy changes
- Maintain organized files and help prepare materials for internal and external use
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a JD program or pursuing legal studies (or equivalent experience)
- Strong research and writing skills
- Interest in reproductive rights, public interest law, and social justice
- Ability to work with attention to detail and handle confidential information
- Professional communication and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
