About the Role
Join a supportive K–12 team as a Middle School ELA Teacher delivering standards-based instruction in a virtual setting. This role is for a highly qualified, state-certified educator responsible for teaching specific course content, guiding students through the learning process, and addressing individual academic needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging online ELA instruction aligned to the established curriculum
- Use the learning management system (Stride K12) to monitor student progress and performance
- Support students with timely feedback, coaching, and learning interventions as needed
- Partner with students and parents/learning coaches to keep goals on track
- Collaborate with the broader school team to maintain consistent learning expectations
- Attend occasional in-person school events and requirements, such as state testing
Requirements
- North Carolina Middle School ELA teaching certification required
- Residency in North Carolina required
- Experience teaching middle school ELA or equivalent coursework preferred
- Comfort working in an online learning environment and using digital tools
