About the Role
Scout Motors is looking for an OBD Requirements Engineer (IUMPR) to help define and validate onboard diagnostics requirements for next-generation powertrains. In this role, you’ll translate technical and regulatory needs into clear, testable requirements that support compliant vehicle development.
Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and maintain OBD requirements for the vehicle platform and powertrain systems.
- Support requirement decomposition from high-level objectives into system- and component-level specifications.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure requirements are complete, consistent, and implementable.
- Assist in defining verification approaches to ensure requirements can be tested and validated.
- Track requirement changes through development to maintain traceability and version control.
- Contribute to reviews and technical discussions with cross-functional stakeholders.
Requirements
- Experience working with automotive diagnostics and/or onboard diagnostics (OBD) concepts.
- Strong requirements engineering skills, including writing clear, testable specifications.
- Familiarity with vehicle systems, powertrain integration, and diagnostic data flows.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical details effectively.
- Knowledge of development processes and tools for requirements management (as applicable).
