About the Role
Scout Motors is building the next chapter of iconic American vehicles—electrified, digitized, and engineered with American innovation. We’re looking for an OBD Requirements Engineer I to help define and validate requirements for on-board diagnostics (OBD) across our powertrain programs, supporting both all-electric and range extender (Harvester™) architectures.
Responsibilities
- Capture, document, and maintain OBD requirements for relevant vehicle systems and powertrain configurations
- Support requirement decomposition and traceability from standards and internal specifications to testable statements
- Collaborate with engineering teams to align diagnostic behavior with system design and integration needs
- Assist in reviews, verification planning, and gap identification to ensure requirements are complete and feasible
- Contribute to issue resolution by analyzing requirement impacts and recommending updates
Requirements
- Experience with on-board diagnostics concepts and/or automotive diagnostic requirements
- Familiarity with requirements management and traceability practices
- Strong technical communication skills to work across multiple engineering disciplines
- Ability to interpret applicable diagnostic/OBD standards and translate them into clear engineering requirements
- Proficiency with common engineering documentation tools and workflows
