Material Planning Supply Chain Planning Inventory Management

About the Role

Scout Motors is building the next generation of rugged, American-made vehicles—and we’re looking for a Pre-Series Material Planner Specialist to support overseas parts planning for our upcoming production efforts. You’ll help ensure the right materials are available at the right time to support smooth build execution.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate material requirements for pre-series builds, with a focus on overseas parts.
  • Monitor supply status, lead times, and shipment timing to reduce risk to production schedules.
  • Collaborate with sourcing, logistics, engineering, and production teams to align demand and supply plans.
  • Track purchase orders and inventory levels, escalating exceptions when timelines or quantities change.
  • Support continuous improvement of planning processes, tools, and forecasting practices.

Requirements

  • Experience in material planning, supply planning, or production planning (manufacturing environment preferred).
  • Strong understanding of procurement, lead times, and inventory planning concepts.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly with internal and external partners.
  • Proficiency with planning tools and spreadsheets; ERP experience is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on schedule adherence and risk mitigation.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to help build iconic vehicles from pre-series through production.
  • Collaborative team environment focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Competitive compensation and company benefits (details shared during the hiring process).
