About the Role
Microsoft 365 Core Platform is looking for a Principal Product Manager to join the Fleet & Capacity team. This group ensures the right infrastructure is available in the right places at the right times for every Microsoft 365 workload. You’ll help shape and execute the product strategy behind the fleet that powers Microsoft 365, guiding major capacity investments and solving large, evolving platform challenges.
This is an opportunity for a builder who can move across the team’s charter and tackle the biggest open problems—especially as AI growth changes demand patterns, hardware tradeoffs, and the cost impact of capacity decisions.
Responsibilities
- Own product planning and delivery across demand forecasting, capacity investment planning, and supply/demand balancing.
- Drive platform and hardware strategy for fleet growth and modernization.
- Coordinate capacity delivery and live fleet operations to ensure reliability at scale.
- Partner on decommissioning strategy and fleet lifecycle management.
- Make data-informed decisions on where and when to invest, balancing performance, availability, and cost.
Requirements
- Proven product management experience delivering complex, infrastructure- or platform-oriented products.
- Strong ability to reason about forecasting, capacity planning, and operational tradeoffs.
- Experience collaborating across engineering, operations, and business stakeholders in a high-scale environment.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous problem spaces and driving work end-to-end.
- Demonstrated leadership in shaping strategy and influencing technical direction.
Benefits
- Opportunity to work on mission-critical systems supporting Microsoft 365 at global scale.
- Impact on significant capacity investment decisions and long-term platform direction.
- Collaborative environment focused on solving challenging, high-leverage problems.
