About the Role
NORR is looking for a Residential Designer to help shape multi-family residential design solutions that reflect each project’s context, budget, and aesthetic goals. You’ll work closely with architects and cross-discipline teams to coordinate design through every phase of the project.
Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze information from reports and published documents to understand project requirements
- Create architectural design concepts and solutions that meet quality standards, schedule targets, and budget constraints
- Coordinate design intent with other professional disciplines
- Integrate engineering requirements, site survey findings, and field review notes while complying with applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements
- Produce design reports, drawings, and models aligned with office standards
- Conduct site visitations to confirm compliance with construction documents, identify deviations, and coordinate timely resolutions with owners and contractors
- Review project deliverables, including products and shop drawings, to ensure alignment with project documents, codes, and internal quality controls
Requirements
- Experience across all phases of the project cycle
- Proficiency with architectural design tools including Revit and AutoCAD; experience with SketchUp, Photoshop, and other design software is a plus
- Familiarity with MEP and structural building systems and relevant building codes
- Completion of related post-secondary education
- Registered with a relevant professional architectural association is an asset
- 7–10 years of project work experience; residential experience is preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000–$105,000 annually
