About the Role
Sargent Corporation is looking for a Safety Director to join our senior leadership team in Orono, Maine. In this role, you’ll provide strategic oversight of safety initiatives across the organization, ensuring compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and other applicable regulations. You’ll help build and sustain a safety-first culture while partnering with operations, HR, and field leadership.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of company-wide health and safety programs
- Ensure organizational compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and other regulatory requirements
- Partner with operations and field leaders to identify risks and drive practical safety solutions
- Support incident prevention efforts through training, coaching, and program enhancements
- Collaborate with HR to strengthen safety policies, onboarding, and employee engagement
- Provide leadership and guidance to promote a consistent safety culture across teams
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and workplace safety compliance
- Proven leadership experience influencing safety outcomes across multiple teams or sites
- Hands-on, practical approach to implementing safety programs
- Ability to partner effectively with operations, HR, and field leadership
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to employee protection
