Senior Manager, Infrastructure Data Science (Hybrid) - San Francisco, CA

About the Role

Databricks is seeking a Senior Manager of Infrastructure Data Science to help shape the future of our infrastructure through advanced analytics and data science. You’ll address high-impact challenges across capacity planning, performance optimization, reliability engineering, and infrastructure efficiency—ultimately improving the customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of data scientists focused on infrastructure intelligence and predictive insights.
• Partner with engineering leaders to translate operational needs into data-driven models, dashboards, and recommendations.
• Drive projects that improve capacity planning, system performance, reliability, and resource utilization.
• Identify bottlenecks and improvement opportunities using experimentation, monitoring, and statistical/ML techniques.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure insights are adopted and translated into engineering actions.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading data science efforts in infrastructure, systems, or large-scale production environments.
• Strong background in machine learning, statistics, and data analysis applied to real-world systems.
• Demonstrated ability to partner with engineering and influence technical roadmaps with data.
• Experience with performance, reliability, and/or capacity planning analytics.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
