About the Role
As a Senior Scala Engineer, you’ll join a collaborative, high-ownership team focused on building and improving reliable systems that support our loyalty and marketing platforms. You’ll help turn technical challenges into practical solutions while contributing to the engineering culture of continuous learning and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and data-driven components using Scala
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and stakeholders to deliver features and improvements
- Investigate issues, troubleshoot production problems, and drive durable fixes
- Contribute to system architecture decisions and improve engineering best practices
- Support code quality through testing, reviews, and thoughtful engineering documentation
Requirements
- Strong experience building production services with Scala
- Solid understanding of backend engineering fundamentals (APIs, data, performance, reliability)
- Experience working in distributed systems and troubleshooting complex issues
- Comfort collaborating in an Agile environment and communicating clearly with cross-functional teams
