About the Role
Brex is seeking a Senior Security Operations Engineer to help strengthen our security posture and improve how we detect, investigate, and respond to threats. You’ll work with a team of security professionals to turn signals into actionable outcomes, protect customer and company data, and continuously raise the bar for operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and investigate incidents across relevant systems and platforms
- Improve detection engineering by tuning rules, queries, and alert logic to reduce noise and increase signal quality
- Collaborate with engineering and threat intelligence stakeholders to develop response playbooks and escalation paths
- Drive continuous improvements to SOC workflows, documentation, and operational metrics
- Participate in incident response activities, including root-cause analysis and post-incident remediation planning
Requirements
- Experience operating in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or equivalent incident detection and response environment
- Strong understanding of security monitoring concepts, investigation methodology, and incident lifecycle management
- Hands-on experience with security tooling such as SIEM/SOAR, endpoint telemetry, and/or log analysis
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners during investigations
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where you can improve processes and automation
