About the Role
MongoDB’s Query Team is looking for a Senior Staff Product Manager to lead product strategy across the Query business unit. You’ll help define the multi-year vision, product architecture, and market direction for a modular distributed query engine and a flexible query system.
Responsibilities
- Set division-wide product strategy for the Query organization, aligning stakeholders around a clear roadmap
- Serve as the primary product authority for complex trade-offs and cross-team dependencies
- Collaborate with senior engineering partners to pressure-test assumptions and validate product direction
- Identify systemic risks early and remove structural friction that slows execution across initiatives
- Advise executive leadership on options that balance long-term monetization, business outcomes, and strategic priorities
- Own or contribute to pricing and monetization strategy for the relevant product line, where applicable
Requirements
- Proven product leadership experience at a senior or staff level, ideally in complex technical platforms
- Strong ability to evaluate trade-offs across architecture, scalability, and customer value
- Track record of influencing cross-functional partners, including engineering and executive stakeholders
- Comfort driving rigorous debate, challenging assumptions, and translating insights into actionable plans
- Ability to work in a hybrid setting and be based in New York City
