About the Role
Bestow is building modern infrastructure for the life insurance industry, helping carriers launch new products faster through automation and AI. As a Senior Technical Underwriter, you’ll apply underwriting expertise to support technical evaluation and improve the way risk is assessed across our platform.
Responsibilities
- Review and assess insurance applications using technical underwriting judgment and defined guidelines
- Partner with product and engineering teams to translate underwriting requirements into scalable workflows
- Validate underwriting logic, data inputs, and decisioning outputs to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Identify gaps in processes or rules and recommend improvements that reduce friction and cycle time
- Support continuous monitoring and quality checks for underwriting outcomes
Requirements
- Proven experience in life insurance underwriting with strong technical decision-making skills
- Ability to interpret underwriting guidelines and apply them consistently to real-world scenarios
- Comfort working with data and collaborating cross-functionally with technical teams
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to risk-appropriate decisions
- Excellent communication skills for documenting and explaining underwriting rationale
