About the Role
Axon 911 is building the next-generation platform that combines modern 911 infrastructure with an AI intelligence layer to help public safety agencies respond faster and make better decisions. As a Senior VoIP Software Engineer, you’ll help design and improve voice and communications capabilities that power critical 911 workflows.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance VoIP software components used in mission-critical communications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable features
- Own technical design decisions and help drive engineering best practices
- Improve system performance, observability, and reliability across the service stack
- Contribute to secure software development and operational readiness
Requirements
- Strong experience building real-time communication systems (VoIP or similar)
- Proficiency in modern software engineering practices and debugging complex issues
- Experience with networking concepts relevant to voice systems (e.g., RTP/SIP or equivalent)
- Ability to collaborate effectively and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly
