About the Role
Join our Vector Search team to help build a high-performance vector database powered by MongoDB. You’ll work on the syntax and implementation behind MongoDB’s $vectorSearch aggregation, enabling fast approximate nearest-neighbor queries for high-dimensional vectors.
This is an opportunity to make a visible impact as we scale search to billions of vectors. Performance and thoughtful engineering are at the core of what we do.
Responsibilities
- Implement new capabilities in MongoDB’s $search and $vectorSearch aggregation operators
- Partner with Product teams to define query and index syntax for new search experiences
- Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks, especially in filter-heavy query paths
Requirements
- Strong software engineering skills with experience building and optimizing backend systems
- Experience working with search, indexing, query execution, or performance tuning
- Comfort collaborating across teams to translate product goals into technical solutions
