About the Role
Scout Motors is looking for a Software Update and Validation Engineer to help ensure our vehicle software is delivered reliably and performs as intended. In this role, you’ll support the development and verification of software update functionality for connected, electrified vehicle systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute validation plans for software update workflows across relevant vehicle software components
- Develop test approaches, cases, and scripts to confirm update integrity, performance, and expected behavior
- Analyze issues found in validation and partner with engineering teams to drive resolution
- Support release readiness activities by verifying update-related requirements and documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust software delivery and system compatibility
Requirements
- Experience with software testing, validation, or quality engineering in embedded or automotive contexts
- Strong understanding of software update concepts (e.g., versioning, rollback/fallback, update sequencing)
- Proficiency with scripting and tooling used for test execution and result tracking
- Ability to interpret logs, reproduce defects, and communicate findings clearly
- Hands-on experience working with automotive systems, diagnostics, or CI/CD processes is a plus
